It's not easy bein' green.

The hallmark of a good value NVMe SSD, in my mind, is still around £50 per TB or so, which may becoming hard to achieve with impending price rises once again. However, at the moment, you can snag a capable 2TB WD Green SN3000 for £83 from Rare Waves on Amazon. It might not be the lowest price we've ever seen this drive at, but ut still marks out a handy reduction on an affordable drive to use for secondary storage.

WD rates this drive for up to 5000MB/s reads and up to 4200MB/s writes, making it rather brisk for a cheaper option. Sure, it may not be up there with some of the best gaming SSDs we've tested with speeds that almost double it, but for most folks wanting to add some more quick storage on the cheap to a PC, this is decently fast.

2TB of storage gives you enough room for lots in the way of apps and local media files, as well as games, too. With lots of modern titles pushing triple-digits in terms of size, any additional storage is welcome. You just have to make sure you've got a PCIe 4.0-capable motherboard to take full advantage of the speeds that the SN3000 offers - that's anything from the last five years or so, but it's just worth checking.

If you've been after some snappy, but affordable NVMe storage, this 2TB WD Green SN3000 on eBay is quite the bargain before Black Friday.
