27-inches gives you decent screen real estate to play with while a 1920x1080 resolution is reasonable for office duties and gaming, too. It may not be the 1440p sweet spot we recommend, but should still be perfectly usable for budget gaming. You also get the benefit of a 180Hz refresh rate for smooth on-screen action and improving general snappiness.

300 nits of peak brightness means displayed images should have some decent punch, plus this Viewsonic panel has HDR10 support, even if that peak brightness isn't high enough to truly harness HDR support. It also says the screen has some of variable refresh rate support to prevent tearing and juddering, although goes into no further detail as to what that support is.

Its IPS panel also allows for solid colour accuracy, contrast and good viewing angles, too. As for ports, you get a pair of HDMI 2.0 ports and a DP 1.4, as well as a headphone jack for audio - something you'll need, as this Viewsonic monitor doesn't have any built-in speakers.

If you've been after a handy 27-inch Full HD gaming monitor for a solid price, this Viewsonic XG27G1 from Box is a bargain.
