Is Sableye shiny in Pokémon Go?
Yes, Sableye can be shiny in Pokémon Go. Shiny Sableye was released in October 2017 as part of the Halloween event.
Although Sableye hasn't had a Community Day event, it has been in Go Tours and the like, and has been around long enough that it is a relatively common shiny. If you're missing one, there's a good chance that one of your high-level friends can trade you one!
What does shiny Sableye look like?
Regular Sableye is a cool Pokémon. The purple skin with the small ruby embedded in its chest looks pretty neat. Plus, we love that the design makes it look like Game Freak's answer to Disney's Stitch. However, its shiny version is actually the cooler of the two.
You see, Sableye live underground, eating gems. Don't think too hard about the eyes and its chest having a gem embedded - you are what you eat, perhaps? Like we say, don't think too hard about Pokémon... Anyway, if the shiny is supposed to more precious than the regular, how do you make shiny Sableye reflect this? Make its skin the colour of the thing we base all of our wealth on: gold.
Let's ignore the fact that emeralds are generally worth the same or less than rubies - in this case, the green just looks better than red against the gold.
Shiny Mega Sableye keeps this colouring. Since the regular's eyes turn red and it gets a whopping great rupee ruby to hold onto, the shiny follows suit with green eyes and an emerald. The most surprising difference is that all of the dirt this Pokémon eats has turned its teeth black, making it look far creepier than the regular.
Shiny Sableye encounter rates
The shiny encounter rates for Sableye in Pokémon Go depend on the method you're using to obtain it. If it's a Go Pass encounter, then you'll be working with either the base shiny rate or the slightly boosted one for uncommon Pokémon. According to the Pokémon Go wiki, the base rate is estimated to be 1/512 (+0.2%) and the uncommon rate is 1/128 (+0/8%).

How to get shiny Sableye and perfect IV stats
Whether you can find Sableye in the wild depends on the season - the in-game event season that is - and what is spawning. If you’re lucky, a one-off event such a Spotlight Hour or Go Tour may feature Sableye, giving you a chance to go shiny hunting. That said, unless those events specifically state that you can get a shiny Sableye, you’re just going to have to rely on dumb luck.
This means walking and clicking on every Sableye you see. The average shiny rate for a non-boosted Pokémon is around 1/500, meaning that for every 500 Sableye you see, one is probably going to be shiny. If you check your Pokédex and seen you have 499 encounters, however, that doesn’t mean your next one is a guaranteed shiny - that’s not how maths works.
Good luck if you're trying for a shiny - that's a lot of Pokémon to check!
The High Voltage event is currently running. There's a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! First, it's worth learning about the level update. After this, you might want to fight in the Go Battle League, use Party Play, compete in a PokéStop Showcase or explore a Route for its Gift Exchange. Keep an eye out for rare Pokémon and don't forget to collect Max Particles, so you can battle Dynamax Pokémon in Max Battles.
Sableye 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go
When talking about a Sableye with 100% perfect stats in Pokémon Go, you're looking for one with 15/15/15 stats to create a maxed out, 100% IV Pokémon, for your 4* Pokédex, raids and the Master League.
If you're looking in the wild and are at least Level 30 (or above), you'll ideally be looking for the following CPs for a perfect 15/15/15 Sableye:
- Level 30 (wild CP maximum) - 1265 CP
- Level 35 (weather boosted CP maximum) - 1370 CP
The wild CP value aligns with your Trainer Level until you reach Level 30 and, due to the majority of the player base now being above this level, we've kept to these values for the sake of simplicity. These values will, however, be different if you're currently below Level 30.
Best of luck hunting down shiny Sableye!
