How to evolve Slowpoke in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Here's how to evolve Slowpoke (and Galarian Slowpoke!) to get Slowbro or Slowking.
Slowpoke is perhaps one of the goofiest Pokémon present in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. This Water/Psychic-type often looks like he's lost in his own thoughts – if he even has any – but don't be fooled, as he can be quite the battler. On top of that, Slowpoke has two different evolutions for you to choose from, and Pokémon Legends: Z-A also hides away a Galarian Slowpoke you'll want to collect!
Here's exactly how to evolve Slowpoke into both Slowbro and Slowking in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, as well as how to evolve Galarian Slowpoke.

How to evolve Slowpoke in Pokémon Legends Z-A
First things first, to evolve Slowpoke in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you first need to get your hands on one. Fortunately, Slowpoke's are found in abundance in Wild Zone 10 at all times of day and night.
Now, you can evolve Slowpoke into either Slowbro or Slowking, but you ultimately want to do both if you wish to complete the Pokédex.
Evolving Slowpoke into Slowbro
Evolving Slowpoke into Slowbro is the easier option, as all you need to do is train Slowpoke up to Level 37, then the option to evolve them into Slowbro will become available.
Evolving Slowpoke into Slowking is a little trickier…
Evolving Slowpoke into Slowking
To evolve Slowpoke into Slowking, you need to trade your Slowpoke with another player while they're holding the King's Rock item. This is one of multiple Trade Evolutions featured in Pokémon Legends: Z-A and there's sadly no other way around it.
You can use Trade Codes to quickly trade with another player if need be, but as always, be wary of trading your precious Pokémon online with strangers.
How to get King's Rock in Pokémon Legends Z-A
The King's Rock item can be acquired from any of the following two sources, meaning you won't be able to get it until quite late into the game:
- Side Mission 84 - Strike First to Make 'Em Flinch!
- Purchasable from the Racine Construction NPC during the post-game for $4,980.
How to get Slowbronite in Pokémon Legends Z-A
If you happen to evolve one of your Slowpokes into a Slowbro, you can then put your Slowbronite Mega Stone – a reward for defeating Rogue Mega Slowbro – to good use. Equip it to your Slowbro to be able to use Mega Slowbro in battle!
How to evolve Galarian Slowpoke in Pokémon Legends Z-A
There isn't just Slowpoke to worry about evolving in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, as Galarian Slowpoke has also made a return, and there's only one way of getting your hands on them.
To get Galarian Slowpoke, you must complete Side Mission 39 - Slowpoke for a Slowpoke, which tasks you with trading a standard Slowpoke (location above) for a Galarian Slowpoke.
Once you have your Galarian Slowpoke, you have the choice of evolving them into either Slowking-Galar or Slowbro-Galar. You only have one Galarian Slowpoke in Lumiose City, so you'll want to make this decision carefully. Fortunately, you do not need both Slowking-Galar and Slowbro-Galar to complete the Pokedex.
Evolving Galarian Slowpoke into Slowbro-Galar
To alternatively evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Slowbro-Galar, you will need to use the Galarica Cuff on your Slowpoke, which is a reward from Side Mission 75 - Some Unusual Pokémon.
Evolving Galarian Slowpoke into Slowking-Galar
To evolve Galarian Slowpoke into Slowking-Galar, you will need to use the Galarica Wreath on your Slowpoke, which is the second reward from the aforementioned Side Mission 75 - Some Unusual Pokémon.
Good luck getting Slowpoke – and evolving them into Slowbro and/or Slowking – in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
