How to evolve Phantump in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Here's how to evolve Phantump to get Trevenant.
Phantump is one of two spooky-themed 'mons – the other being Pumpkaboo – that require trading to evolve in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. While Phantump is an adorable, ghostly tree stump, its evolution – Trevenant – is a much more formidable Pokémon in Pokémon Legends: Z-A; this Ghost/Grass-type ultimately transforms into a foreboding one-eyed tree Pokémon.
If that sounds like the type of Pokémon you want on your team, then here's how to evolve Phantump in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

How to evolve Phantump in Pokémon Legends Z-A
First things first, to evolve a Phantump into Trevenant, you first need to catch a Phantump! Phantump is found in Wild Zone 13 during the nighttime.
You can also catch an Alpha Trevenant here if you're up for the challenge (and wish to complete your Pokédex with as few trades as possible), saving you the need to evolve Phantump altogether.
That said, Alpha Pokémon are tricky to beat and even trickier to catch. To boost your chances of successfully catching one, I recommend stocking up on Ultra Balls and Timer Balls, whittling Trevenant's HP down as much as you can (but not knocking them out!), and then throwing balls at them repeatedly until they're caught. Knocking Trevenant out then trying to catch them and failing will see the Pokémon disappear until the next night.
Either way, be prepared to spend a while catching the Alpha Trevenant unless you're particularly overleveled for them.
Evolving Phantump into Trevenant
To evolve a Phantump into Trevenant in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, you will need to take part in a Trade Evolution. This means that you must trade your Phantump with another player in order for it to evolve. Sadly, there's no other way round this aside from catching the Alpha Trevenant.
Upon trading Phantump, the player receiving the Pokémon will get to witness their evolution into Trevenant. The receiving player will then need to send Trevenant back to you if you're hoping to add it to your Pokédex or party.
You can use Trade Codes to quickly trade with another player if need be, but as always, be wary of trading your precious Pokémon online with strangers.
Good luck getting Phantump – and evolving them into Trevenant – in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
