How to get the Moon Stone in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Here are all Moon Stone locations in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
The Moon Stone is a rare Evolution Item in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. Unlike other Evolution Stones, this precious item can't be purchased from the Stone Emporium until you've nearly finished the game, so you'll want to go about finding it much sooner if you wish to complete the Pokédex and all of Mable's Research in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
To help you out with that and make sure you don't miss out on evolving any 'mons, here's how to get the Moon Stone in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and which Pokémon evolve with the Moon Stone.

How to get the Moon Stone in Pokémon Legends Z-A
The Moon Stone is an Evolution Item in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, but like the Shiny Stone and Dawn Stone, it's not the easiest of Evolution Stones to get your hands on. The only methods of acquiring a Moon Stone in Lumiose City are:
- Purchasable from the Stone Emporium for $3,000 during the post-game.
- Found around Lumiose City as loot.
As you can see, the most foolproof way of getting your hands on a Moon Stone – the Stone Emporium – isn't available until quite late into the game. If you don't fancy waiting, you'll need to explore Lumiose City and find a Moon Stone as loot.
If you're hoping to pick up a Moon Stone while exploring, we've detailed all known Moon Stone locations below.
All Moon Stone locations in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Below is a map from our friends at Map Genie of the locations of all Moon Stones that can be found in Lumiose City:
Moon Stone location #1
The first Moon Stone is located on a rooftop in Rouge Sector 7, in the north of Lumiose City and directly south of Wild Zone 13.
If you head to the sports court in Rouge Sector 7 and look north, there's a ladder along the building here that you can climb to access the roof. Once on the roof, use Fire-type moves to destroy the tree roots beside the bench here (I'd already destroyed them in the below image). Inside of one, you'll find the Moon Stone.
Moon Stone location #2
The second Moon Stone is found on the rooftop scaffolding of a building in Jaune Sector 9, a short walk from the Jaune Pokémon Center. Fast travel to the Pokémon Center and go up the stairs south of it to reach a Holovator that'll take you to the rooftops.
You can then walk along the scaffolding on these rooftops to reach the Moon Stone (pictured below), as well as plenty of other useful items (including a Net Ball, Colorful Screw, and more).
Moon Stone location #3
The third Moon Stone is also found atop some rooftop scaffolding. This time, directly beside Wild Zone 14 in Magenta Sector 6.
Fast travel to the Wild Zone and head east to reach a sports court. Directly to the west of this sports court is a well-hidden bit of scaffolding. Climb this scaffolding to reach the rooftops, then drop down back onto the scaffolding from the rooftops to reach this Moon Stone.
Moon Stone location #4
The fourth Moon Stone is found on the rooftop of a building in Magenta Sector 6, directly south of Wild Zone 7 and Nouveau Cafe (Truck No. 3), and northwest of Cafe Gallant.
Fast travel to Cafe Gallant and on your left, there's a Holovator you can use to access the rooftops where the Moon Stone is located. It's hidden behind a chimney (pictured below).
Moon Stone location #5
The fifth Moon Stone is found on a rooftop along Bleu Street, directly southwest of Wild Zone 16.
Fast travel to the Wild Zone and u-turn, then take a right and enter the shopping plaza here. Exit the shopping plaza using the first exit on your right, and you'll soon see a scaffolding. Climb to the top of this scaffolding to access the rooftops where the Moon Stone is located.
Moon Stone location #6
The sixth and final Moon Stone is found in Lumiose Sewers, which is only freely accessible following Main Mission 20 - A Request from the Rust Syndicate and Side Mission 57 - The Camerupt Entrepreneur.
That said, to access this Moon Stone, you'll need to specifically use the entrance to the Sewers that is on the northern end of the Saison Canal, just south of Magenta Pokémon Center. Once inside, the Moon Stone is in the room in the northwest corner of the area (pictured below).
Pokémon that evolve using Moon Stone in Pokémon Legends Z-A
There is only one Pokémon that evolves using the Moon Stone in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, and they're as follows:
