Pokémon Legends Z-A Yveltal counters
The best Yveltal counters are Rock, Electric, Ice, and Fairy-types. Here are the Pokémon we recommend for each type:
| Pokémon | Type |
|---|---|
| Glaceon | Ice |
| Vanilluxe | Ice |
| Avalugg | Ice |
| Glalie | Ice |
| Aurorus | Rock/Ice |
| Florges | Fairy |
| Clefable | Fairy |
| Aromatisse | Fairy |
| Slurpuff | Fairy |
| Carbink | Rock/Fairy |
| Mawile | Steel/Fairy |

| Eelektross | Electric |

It's important to note that you do not want to use Pokémon (or moves) that are Ghost, Grass, Ground, Psychic and Dark-types. Yveltal is resistant to Ghost, Grass, and Dark-types, immune to Ground and Psychic-types, and can deal double damage to Grass, Ghost, Psychic, Bug, and Fighting-type Pokémon depending on what move it uses.
These types should all be avoided where possible, and you should focus on the best Rock, Electric, Ice, and Fairy-types that you have available to you.
Pokémon Legends Z-A Yveltal recommended level
Yveltal is Level 75 in Pokémon Legends: Z-A, therefore we recommend being Level 75, if not a few levels higher. This is a very tough Pokémon to take down, so a few extra levels won't go amiss.
Pokémon Legends Z-A Yveltal moveset
You'll also want to be prepared for Yveltal's moveset in Pokémon Legends: Z-A. The attacks that they use are as follows:
- Dark Pulse (Dark-type) – Yveltal sends out an orb towards their target that damages them on contact.
- Oblivion Wing (Flying-type) – Yveltal briefly charges a huge red beam of energy and then attacks the target with it. This can restore Yveltal's HP by up to 75% of the damage dealt to the target.
- Psychic (Psychic-type) – Yveltal sends out a fast Psychic orb at their target that damages them on contact, and has a chance of lowering the target's Special Defense.
- Hurricane (Flying-type) – Yveltal sends out a damage-dealing hurricane that has a small chance to confuse the target (for between two and five turns) upon contact.
Towards the end of this battle, you want to use a Poké Ball to capture your second legendary Pokémon, Yveltal.
Good luck beating and catching Yveltal in Pokémon Legends: Z-A!
