Shine Bright like a Gemstone walkthrough in Pokémon Legends Z-A

To start 'Shine Bright like a Gemstone', you first need to download it using the Mystery Gift function and ensure you've completed the game's main campaign. The Mystery Gift will also include the Diancite, Diancie's Mega Stone, so don't worry about finding that.

Once you've met these requirements, head to the Looker Bureau in Rouge Sector 5 just north of Wild Zone 3.

Inside, talk to Mimi, Emma's Espurr, and she will be interested in your Diancite. 'Shine Bright like a Gemstone' will now start and you need to head outside to follow Mimi!

Mimi will have headed to the road running along the north side of Rouge Sector 1. To reach this location, head south from the Looker Bureau and run past Wild Zone 3. Next, go down the road after the Holovator on the western side of Wild Zone 3. You'll know you're in the right place when you spot both Emma and Mimi.

After a short conversation with Emma, Mimi will run off again. Thankfully, she hasn't gone far and can be found at the small market area just outside of Quasartico Inc. All you have to do to find this area is head north. Again, keep an eye out for Emma once you reach this location.

Now that everyone has a full stomach, it's back to following Mimi again! This time she's at the Holovator in Magenta Sector 8. This Holovator can be found between the Magenta Pokémon Center and the entrance to the Lumiose Sewers along the Saison Canal.

Before you go to the rooftops, however, now is the perfect time to stock up on healing items and Ultra Balls, especially since the Magenta Pokémon Center is just up the road. I really recommend stocking up on a lot of Ultra Balls as Diancie is a tough Pokémon to catch, so, unless you're really lucky, it's going to be a tough fight.

When you're ready, head up the Holovator. You'll want to head to the roof which is north-east of the Holovator itself and it's not the roof you're currently standing on, so let's take a look at how to get there!

Take the right-hand bridge and Roto-Glide to the building directly north of the building you're currently atop of.

You now need to climb the ladder directly in front of you. Afterwards, follow the roofs around to the left. If you haven't explored this area before, you may need to use a Fire-type move on the webs to create a bridge to the next roof.

The last step is to simply cross the final bridge to the roof where you'll see Emma and Mimi. Reaching them will cause another cutscene to play out and Diancie will finally arrive!

Don't worry, you won't be thrown into a fight with Diancie straight away. (Especially since you'll want to catch it!) Before starting the fight, however, make sure you take the time to save, grab some healing items and Ultra Balls. You're going to need them!

When you're ready, walk up and interact with Diancie to begin the fight. I've got a full guide covering the Diancie weaknesses and counters to help you be fully prepared for this fight.

For here, I'd recommend taking care of the two Carbinks first. Both will be Level 66 and it doesn't matter whether you defeat or catch them. When it comes to Diancie itself, keep in mind that, if you fail to catch it after it faints, the battle will reset. You have to catch Diancie to complete this Side Mission. Since you only get one chance to catch Diancie when it faints, it's best to keep it in the red health section to increase your chances of catching it.

After you've caught Diancie, the Extra Side Mission will come to an end. Alongside your new Diancie, you'll receive $10,000 and one Exp. Candy XL.
