How to get Greninja Mega Stone in Pokémon Legends Z-A
Here's how to get Greninjite to Mega Evolve Greninja in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
The Greninja Mega Stone is no easy feat to get in Pokemon Legends: Z-A. Lumiose City has seen Mega Evolutions make a return, with plenty of new 'mons undergoing grand transformations when exposed to a Mega Stone. Though, some of these Mega Stones – Greninjite included – in Pokémon Legends: Z-A aren't super straight-forward to get and unfortunately require some grinding.
Not only that, but you're going to need a Nintendo Switch Online subscription too… Here's how to get the Greninja Mega Stone in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.

How to get Greninja Mega Stone in Pokémon Legends Z-A
If you're looking to Mega Evolve Greninja using the Greninjite Mega Stone, you will need to participate in Ranked Battles. This is because the Greninjite Mega Stone can only be acquired as a reward from these battles in Pokémon Legends: Z-A.
More specifically, you won't be able to hop into a couple Ranked Battles and simply earn Greninjite for participating; you will need to reach Rank K of Season 1 of Ranked Battles to receive the Greninjite Mega Stone.
The current Ranked Battles Season – Season 1 – is set to conclude on Tuesday 4th November, so you'll want to go about participating in these battles in a bid to get Greninjite sooner rather than later.
We'll be sure to update this page if a new method of obtaining Greninjite comes out! In the meantime, if you want to know more about the other rewards you can get, here's our Ranked Battles rewards guide.
How do Ranked Battles work in Pokémon Legends Z-A?
If you haven't taken part in a Ranked Battle before, these matches consist of four players with three Pokémon each (all scaled to Level 50, to keep things fair!), and Your job is to try and get as many eliminations as possible within the time limit. The player with the most eliminations is crowned the winner, and the winner – as well as runner's up – will receive an amount of points that will see them, hopefully, rank up.
Reaching Rank K is not as difficult as you may first think, though. Points aren't just awarded for eliminations in these matches, but for things like Mega Evolving your Pokémon, playing to opposing Pokémon's weaknesses, and more. This means that even if you lose and even if you aren't using the most powerful Pokémon, there's still an opportunity for you to rank up if you played well. Ideally though, you want to aim for second to guarantee you don't lose any points!
One final thing to note is that once you reach Rank K during Season 1 of Pokémon Legends: Z-A's Ranked Battles, you'll be rewarded with the Greninjite Mega Stone right away and will not need to wait for the Season's end to receive it!
Good luck getting your hands on Greninjite in Pokémon Legends: Z-A!
