Silver Bottle Caps were added to Pokémon Go in November 2025 and expanded the Hyper Training mechanic ever so slightly.

The introduction of Silver Bottle Caps occurred four months after the release of Hyper Training and the Gold Bottle Cap in Pokémon Go. While a Silver Bottle Cap has a similar purpose to its gold sibling - letting you use the Hyper Training mechanic - it can only train one IV stat rather than all three.

Silver Bottle Caps are still very useful though, so let's learn how to get Silver Bottle Caps in Pokémon Go.

How to get a Silver Bottle Cap in Pokémon Go

To get a Silver Bottle Cap in Pokémon Go, you need to purchase the Deluxe track for Go Pass Into the Wild and progress to Rank 100. Fulfill both of these requirements and the Silver Bottle Cap will be yours.

Once unlocked, you have until 11:59pm (local time) on Monday 24th November 2025 to use the Silver Bottle Cap for Hyper Training or else it will expire. Keep in mind that each Silver Bottle Cap is a one use item.

Go Pass: Into the Wild Deluxe is on sale until 6pm (local time) on Sunday 16th November. It costs £14.99, $14.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency. Though, if you want to also unlock 10 Ranks upon purchase, it will cost £19.99, $19.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency. Keep in mind that these purchases are nonrefundable and can not be done using PokéCoin.

It's also very important to note that you must claim all of your rewards by 11:59pm (local time) on Sunday 16th November or else they will expire! This includes the Silver Bottle Cap!

The High Voltage event is currently running. There's a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! First, it's worth learning about the level update. After this, you might want to fight in the Go Battle League, use Party Play, compete in a PokéStop Showcase or explore a Route for its Gift Exchange. Keep an eye out for rare Pokémon and don't forget to collect Max Particles, so you can battle Dynamax Pokémon in Max Battles.

Which Pokémon should you use a Silver Bottle Cap on?

When it comes to deciding which Pokémon you should use the Silver Bottle Cap on, it's first important to note that Shadow Pokémon or one with already maxed out stats can not be Hyper Trained. You must also be a Good Buddy or higher with your chosen Pokémon.

I recommend using the Silver Bottle Cap on either a Legendary or Mythical Pokémon, such as:

  • Rayquaza (for Mega Evolution)
  • Groudon (for Primal)
  • Kyogre (for Primal)
  • Black Kyurem
  • White Kyurem
  • Dawn Wings Necrozma
  • Dusk Mane Necrozma
  • Eternatus
  • Crowned Sword Zacian

Though you could also use it on a powerful Mega Evolution like:

  • Mega Lucario
  • Mega Garchomp
  • Mega Salamence
  • Mega Latios
  • Mega Gardevoir
Dawn Wings Necrozma and Mega Gardevoir are good choices for your Silver Bottle Cap.

Best of luck using your Silver Bottle Cap!
