Gold Bottle Caps debuted in Pokémon Go in June 2025, so it's a good idea to how to get a Gold Bottle Cap and how they work. Though, if you've used Hyper Training in the mainline games, you might also be wondering exactly which Bottle Caps can now be found in Pokémon Go.

How to get a Gold Bottle Cap in Pokémon Go

To get a Gold Bottle Cap in Pokémon Go, you need to have purchased the Go Pass Deluxe: Ancients Recovered and progressed to the Gold Bottle Cap reward rank.

Go Pass Deluxe: Ancients Recovered is on sale until to Sunday 29th June at 6pm (local time). It costs £19.99 $19.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency. Though you can purchase the pass with 10 ranks already finished for £24.99 or the equivalent pricing tier in your local currency. Both are nonrefundable purchases and can not be done using PokéCoins.

It's important to note that you must have claimed your Go Pass Deluxe: Ancients Recovered rewards before 11:59pm (local time) on Sunday 29th June or else they will expire. This includes the Gold Bottle Cap.

Once collected, you then have until 11:59pm (local time) on Sunday 6th July to use your Gold Bottle Cap. You leave it unused and this date passes, then the Gold Bottle Cap will expire.

The Gold Bottle Cap is a rare item and, similar to Master Balls, will only be available during specific in-game events in Pokémon Go. It's required for Hyper Training in Pokémon Go, so, if you want to use this mechanic, you'll need to grab one (and pay the cost). Just make sure you pick your trainee Pokémon nice and early to avoid running close to that expiry date!

Which Pokémon should you use the Gold Bottle Cap on?

When it comes to deciding which Pokémon you should use the Gold Bottle Cap on, it's first important to note that Shadow Pokémon can not be Hyper Trained.

We recommend using Hyper Training on either a legendary or mythical Pokémon. Here are some recommendations:

  • Diancie (for Mega Evolution)
  • Rayquaza (for Mega Evolution)
  • Origin Forme Dialga
  • Primal Groudon
  • Primal Kyogre
  • Dusk Mane Necrozma
  • Dawn Wings Necrozma
  • Black Kyurem

You could also use it on a Mega Evolution, with our suggestions being:

  • Mega Lucario
  • Mega Gengar
  • Mega Sceptile
Mega Evolutions are a good back-up choice for your Gold Bottle Cap.

Are Silver Bottle Caps in Pokémon Go?

Yes, Silver Bottle Caps are now in Pokémon Go. While the Silver Bottle Cap wasn't included in the original release of Hyper Training, it was added in November 2025 as part of the Wild Area 2025: Global event by being one of the rewards on the Deluxe Track of the Go Pass Into the Wild battle pass.

The key difference between the Silver and Gold Bottle Caps is that the Silver variant only allows you to Hyper Train one stat - Attack, Defense, HP - while the Gold Bottle Cap allows you to train all three.

On this surface, this may sound like the Silver Bottle Cap isn't as useful as its Gold sibling, but it's more likely to be the one you find easier to use. This is because it will be easier for you to narrow down which Pokémon you want to use it. For example, you might have the perfect counter for Dragon-type raids when it comes to the Attack stat, but it's let down by its low HP which only lets it stay in the fight for a short amount of time. Well the Silver Bottle Cap can fix that problem by fixing up that HP stat.

Just keep in mind that, just like the Gold Bottle Cap, the Silver Bottle Cap has an expiry date that you need to use it by. Let this date pass with the Silver Bottle Cap sitting in your inventory and it will vanish forever.

For now, best of luck earning that Gold Bottle Cap!
