Where to find Pack a Punch and Boost upgrade in Ashes of the Damned
Whenever you begin a new match of Ashes of the Damned, your first port of call will be to upgrade Ol’ Tessie, turn on the power, and acquire Pack a Punch.
Unlike most other Zombie maps, Pack a Punch isn’t in a set location and is instead grafted onto the back of Ol’ Tessie. As for what the upgrade does, it can be used to level up your weapons through three tiers of power, each with escalating cost. Additionally, this upgrade for Ol' Tessie also unlocks the vehicle’s Boost function with this upgrade too.
To find it, you simply need to follow the waypoints and markers that guide you when starting a new match in Ashes of the Damned on Standard. If you’d like more information on the exact specifics however, have a read of our Pack a Punch explainer.
Where to find Abomination Beam upgrade for Ol Tessie in Ashes of the Damned
One of the two main upgrades you may be interested in pursuing after acquiring Pack a Punch, is the Abomination Beam.
Comparatively to the first upgrade, this requires a couple of steps to complete beforehand, but it’s ultimately nothing too complex.
You’ll start your hunt over at the Diner, killing zombies there until one drops the Freezer Key. This can take a bit of time, and if you’re not having any luck - or you get a Nuke power-up, wiping out all enemies in the area - it’s best to search in and around the Diner just in case it’s dropped anywhere else.
Once you have it though, simply visit the freezer near the kitchen within the Diner and interact with it.
The door will open, and you can now pick up the Abomination Meat item which is the part required for the Abomination Beam upgrade.
With this in your inventory, you’ll now want to head back to the garage in Ashwood, and interact with the workbench there to upgrade Ol' Tessie with your newly-collected item.
This will now grant Ol’ Tessie the ability to shoot a beam from the front of the vehicle, indicated by the icon that now shows up on your screen. This can be used to destroy purple-glowing plants out in the foggy roads between locations, as well as being necessary to complete the main quest easter egg.
How to get DG-2 Turret upgrade for Ol Tessie in Ashes of the Damned
The final upgrade that you can acquire for Ol’ Tessie is the DG-2 Turret Barrel.
You can unlock this by progressing through the main quest easter egg and progressing until the first cutscene which occurs after finding and using three coloured keys on a locked, Pyramid box in Ashwood.
Not only can this turret be used as a weapon, both automatically and manually by each player, but it’s also required for shooting the clocks in the second half of the main quest.
We have more info on how this is used and the process to unlocking it in our main quest easter egg guide.
