Finding the Ashes of the Damned Pack a Punch location in Black Ops 7 Zombies is going to be one of your top priorities when playing the map.

Whilst this is a core component of Black Ops 7 Zombies, it’ll likely be a major step of the main easter egg quest, as well as potentially a few others too.

To run through all you need to know, we’ll explain where to find Pack a Punch in Ashes of the Damned, as well as how to Pack a Punch in Black Ops 7 Zombies.

How to Pack a Punch in Ashes of the Damned Black Ops 7 Zombies

Unlike prior maps in the series, Pack-a-Punch in Ashes of the Damned is actually not found in one set location, and you instead have to build it onto Ol’ Tessie - your customisable and upgradable vehicle for the map.

The game naturally guides you along to each of its locations as you go, and there are two variations depending on which direction you leave the first area in the map. The objectives for each area are the same, and we’ve run through them below, but here’s a high-level step-by-step guide on the process.

  1. Find T.E.D.D.’s head.
  2. Turn on the power at Blackwater Lake or Vandorn Farm depending on route.
  3. Turn on the power at Ashwood.
  4. Attach the Pack-a-Punch part to Ol’ Tessie in the Garage at Ashwood.

Keep reading for a more detailed rundown of what you need to do.

T.E.D.D.’s head location

Before getting to drive the vehicle - named Ol’ Tessie - out through the first area, you’ll need to collect T.E.D.D.’s head from inside the Server Room you’re given a waypoint for.

This door will cost 1250 Points (Essence) to open, and once inside, you’ll want to melee a grate open to reveal the infamous bus driver’s head. Interact with it to pick it up, and head back out.

Approach Ol’ Tessie and interact with her to add T.E.D.D. into the vehicle, and then you’ll be ready to drive out and roam free around the map.

The game will waypoint both possible exits for you, each with their own individual locations to complete the required objectives. Whichever you pick however, they will both conclude at the same area.

Power switch locations

You’ll drive Ol’ Tessie out through one of two smashable, wooden gates, with each one leading to different locations around the map.

As you drive out, you’ll encounter dangerous enemies along the way who will jump on and damage your vehicle, but they’re easy enough to deal with in the early rounds - whether by attacking back, or driving straight through to the next area.

Your destination will be waypointed, and is determined by which route you took at the beginning.

Smashing through the East gate leads you to a Power Switch in Vandorn Farm.

Smashing through the West gate leads you to a Power Switch in Blackwater Lake.

As you can see in this image, there are two waypoints for exits to pick - the waypoint on the left is the West gate leading to Blackwater Lake, and the waypoint on the right is the East gate leading you to Vandorn Farm. | Image credit: Eurogamer / Activision

Whichever route you take, you’ll still end up in Ashwood for the second, final power switch after either one of these is completed.

When arriving at either of these locations, you’ll need to 'clear the infestation' by shooting yellow growths on the Power Pumps within the allotted time. You’ll be attacked by more zombies during this process however, so keep an eye out for the oncoming hordes.

Once that’s done, head on over to the power switch - there’ll be a waypoint calling out the location and you’ll need to use points (Essence) to open a door to get there - and simply interact with it to complete this step.

Whether you’re at Blackwater Lake or Vandorn Farm, your next stop will be Ashwood where you’ll repeat the process and gain access to Pack a Punch!

How to turn on Power in Ashwood

Once making your way over to Ashwood, you’ll want to get to the upper levels, either by using the rappel line opposite the garage, or next to it. Once at the top, you'll need to work your way around to where your objective marker is by spending points to open up a door.

After it’s opened, you’ll spot another Power Pump ahead of you which you’ll need to clear of the infestation, following the same process as in the last step.

Take care to not get overwhelmed, and once that’s done, you can flip the power switch and head back down to where you parked Ol’ Tessie.

Where to find Pack a Punch in Ashwood

Once back with Ol’ Tessie, drive the vehicle into the garage - which will also repair any damage - and interact with the nearby workbench where the Pack a Punch part is.

Doing so will retrofit the Pack a Punch machine onto the back of Ol’ Tessie, and you’ll now have access to upgrading your weapons!

Since Pack a Punch is a part of Ol’ Tessie, it’s a portable option that means you can take the machine with you for the first time. With teleporters around the map to return you to the vehicle, it’s one of the more approachable implementations of the Pack a Punch machine.

Hope you’re enjoying Black Ops 7 Zombies!
