Impidimp has debuted alongside Morgrem and Grimmsnarl, its evolutions, in Pokémon Go.

This cheeky Pokémon is part of Gen 8 and was originally released exclusively for attendees of the Pokémon Go Wild Area: 2025 Nagasaki event. Thankfully, players who couldn't attend the event didn't have to wait long for Impidimp's global release as it occurred only a week later as part of the Go Wild Area: 2025 Global event. You can even snag yourself a Gigantamax Grimmsnarl!

So let's take a look at how to get Impidimp in Pokémon Go, along with how to evolve Morgrem into Grimmsnarl before taking a look at the shiny Impidimp family.

How to get Impidimp in Pokémon Go

Impidimp debuted globally during November 2025 in Pokémon Go as part of the Wild Area 2025: Global event.

Here's how to catch Impidimp during the Wild Area 2025: Global event:

  • Lurking Dark Habitat Hour
  • Fanciful Fairy Habitat Hour
  • 5km eggs (Collected during Wild Area 2025: Global event hours)
  • Wild Area 2025 research tasks:
    • Lurking Dark research tasks - 'Hatch an Egg' and 'Use a Dark-type Charged Attack in a battle'
    • Fanciful Fairy research tasks - 'Hatch an Egg' and 'Use a Fairy-type Charged Attack in a battle'

By far the easiest way to catch Impidimp is to encounter it in the wild when the Wild Area 2025: Global event hour is live. This event is running from 10am to 6pm (local time) on both Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th November. The best Impidimp news? There's only two habitat hours and, as you can see from the above, Impidimp appears during both of them. Thanks to this, you should have no problem encountering Impidimp at all!

Don't worry about purchasing a Wild Area 2025: Global ticket either - the habitat hours are available for all players. This means you will be able to encounter Impidimp without having to spend a single penny on Pokémon Go. Just get out there and hunt down some Pokémon!

You can, of course, try hatching Impidimp from a 5km egg. Just keep in mind that there are other Pokémon in the egg pool (though they are useful ones like Tinkatink and Sandile), but, more importantly, this 5km egg must be collected during the Wild Area 2025: Global event hours. If you've collected a 5km egg outside of this event, it will not contain Impidimp.

It's also worth completing the research tasks that reward Impidimp if you find yourself collecting one of them. Just remember that the one related to using a Charged Attack differs slightly depending on the habitat hour you collect it in, while the 'Hatch an Egg' task has the potential to reward two other Pokémon. During the Lurking Dark habitat hour, this will be Sandile or Pawniard, while the Fanciful Fairy hour offers the chance for Carbink or Tinkatink. (Wouldn't mind another Tinkatink to be honest...)

I really recommend taking the time to catch at least one Impidimp during the Wild Area 2025: Global event as this will ensure you can evolve it to complete the other Pokédex entries. I make this recommendation because, at the time of writing, I don't know how Impidimp will be spawning once the event ends. Recent years have shown newly released Pokémon become quite rare after their debuting event ends, so best to grab Impidimp while it's hot.

The High Voltage event is currently running. There's a lot to do in Pokémon Go outside of the current event! First, it's worth learning about the level update. After this, you might want to fight in the Go Battle League, use Party Play, compete in a PokéStop Showcase or explore a Route for its Gift Exchange. Keep an eye out for rare Pokémon and don't forget to collect Max Particles, so you can battle Dynamax Pokémon in Max Battles.

How to evolve Impidimp into Morgrem and Grimmsnarl in Pokémon Go

You need 25 Impidimp Candy to evolve Impidimp into Morgrem in Pokémon Go. After this, you need a further 100 Impidimp Candy to evolve Morgrem into Grimmsnarl.

While you need 125 total Impidimp Candy to fully complete this Pokémon's evolution line, it's a number you should be used to for an evolution line containing three Mons. If you want to increase the amount of Imidimp Candy you're earning, then remember to use Pinap Berries every time you attempt to catch an Impidimp.

You can also earn candy passively by having an Impidimp as your buddy. Finally, while you could also use Rare Candies, it's probably worth saving for a rarer Pokémon.

Are Impidimp, Morgrem and Grimmsnarl shiny in Pokémon Go?

Yes, Impidimp, Morgrem and Grimmsnarl are shiny in Pokémon Go. These shiny forms were released as part of Impidimp's global release at the beginning of Wild Area 2025: Global in November 2025. This means that shiny Impidimp has been available since the Pokemon's debut!

The even better news is that shiny Impidimp is a cool Pokémon to collect. Its pink colouring has been completely abandoned for a nice teal-shaded look, with grey accents. This design carries over to Morgrem. A change occurs, however, when we reach Grimmsnarl. Thankfully, it's still a really cool shiny design - with Grimmsnarl mostly being grey aside from some sharp moments of purple. When you reach shiny Gigantamax Grimmsnarl, however, you'll see that it cuts an imposing, nearly completely grey, figure.

Best of luck adding Impidimp and its evolutions to your Pokémon Go Pokédex!
