Black Ops 7 guns tier list
Ranking all of the new weapons in Black Ops 7.
With the launch of Black Ops 7, there are a whole suite of weapons to try across several categories, and to let you know which are the best to use, we’ve put together a guns tier list.
Knowing the best guns is one thing, but for those looking for a broader view of what’s hot in Black Ops 7, we’re providing a more extensive look in this guide.
On this page, we’ll be ranking the new weapons in Black Ops 7 in a guns tier list that will cover S-tier to C-tier.

Black Ops 7 tier list for best guns
Before delving into the details about where we are ranking the various guns and why, we’ve provided a high-level view over the best to worst weapons available in Black Ops 7 right now.
Whilst a weapon might be charting lower that doesn’t mean that it’s not worth using – or that it won’t change in the future – it just means it’s not gaining much traction in the meta right now, or is underperforming when compared to the other weapons on offer.
We aren’t going to be including any of the Secondaries or Melee weapons in this guide though, since they are often backup weapons or used in specific circumstances. That said, if a secondary does stand out for whatever reason, we’ll be sure to include it – there have been moments in Call of Duty’s history where certain secondaries have put up a surprisingly good fight and are strong choices, whether as a secondary or even a primary weapon if you really lean into sources of ammo.
Additionally, we're discussing weapons when taken with no attachments, but have, however, made some exceptions if some attachments can have a big impact on the weapon's performance. With that in mind though, it is possible to improve many of the weapons, making them even better - or potentially even bringing them up to the next tier if you pick the right add-ons.
As the game continues to change over the weeks and months, we may continue to revisit this page to update it with what’s best in the latest Seasons and more.
At a glance, here’s our Black Ops 7 guns tier list:
| Tier Ranking | Gun Names |
|---|---|
| S-tier | Peacekeeper MK1, Dravec 45, M8A1, Shadow SK |

Black Ops 7 S-tier guns listed
The S-tier guns in Black Ops 7 cover the absolute best, not just in terms of stats, but also their performance and use cases. If you’re looking to jump in with the strongest weapons, these are the ones to look out for and try yourself.
Here are the Black Ops 7 S-tier guns ordered by weapon class as of Black Ops 7’s launch meta on 14th November 2025:
| Weapon Name | Type | How to Unlock | Description / Reasoning |
|---|---|---|---|
| Peacekeeper MK1 | Assault Rifle | Player Level 52 | Admittedly, the Peacekeeper is more or less an SMG with its high fire rate, but with such great recoil control and range, it’s a strong pick and one of the best assault rifles in the game. |
| Dravec 45 | SMG | Player Level 34 | With a steady fire rate and solid range, the Dravec 45 is one of the more Assault Rifle-like SMGs you can pick, making it a solid all-round pick. |
| M8A1 | Marksman Rifle | Player Level 10 | The return of the king! Perhaps I’m a little biased as a fan of the OG back in Black Ops 2, but I had a great time using this rifle in both the beta and full game. Whilst I’m not sure it feels as good to me as its assault rifle counterpart thirteen years ago, it’s still a solid pick, and despite being in the Marksman Rifle category, can very much function like a burst fire AR. |
| Shadow SK | Sniper Rifle | Player Level 13 | The Shadow SK feels like it comes with the power of a bolt-action rifle, but with the fire rate and mag size of the semi-automatic it is. It’s honestly an exceptionally good sniper, and is one I’d highly recommend if you’re looking to engage in long range combat. |
Black Ops 7 A-tier guns listed
A-tier guns represent some of the best in the game that, whilst not the pinnacle of the meta, are still worth using as they are very reliable. Expect these weapons to serve you well.
Here are the Black Ops 7 A-tier guns ordered by weapon class as of Black Ops 7’s launch meta on 14th November 2025:
| Weapon Name | Type | How to Unlock | Description / Reasoning |
|---|---|---|---|
| AK-27 | Assault Rifle | Player Level 4 | The AK-27 might not be the best-in-class AR, but it’s a solid pick that I’ve found to be pretty reliable across many matches, and a nice alternative to the M15 Mod 0 that you also unlock relatively early on. |
| DS20 Mirage | Assault Rifle | Player Level 37 | Alongside the AK-27 at launch, the DS20 Mirage is a solid assault rifle that suits an all-round playstyle, providing exactly the kind of thing you want from an AR. |
| X9 Maverick | Assault Rifle | Player Level 28 | Whilst not the best burst-fire gun in the game, the X9 Maverick has a quick fire rate and is able to take out enemies in a short time, all in one burst if you’re gunning for the chest and up. |
| Carbon 57 | SMG | Player Level 46 | This is what I would probably consider my personal favourite SMG thanks to its increased ammo reserves and all-round performance. It’s a bit of an outlier compared to the more faster-firing weapons in this class, and is one I’ll be using at launch and beyond. |
| MPC-25 | SMG | Player Level 55 | Whilst I wasn’t initially sure on the MPC-25, it does come in with some of the highest damage compared to the others in the class, and it’s unlocked later in the levelling climb. This could be one to watch out for as the meta settles. |
| Warden 308 | Marksman Rifle | Player Level 25 | The Warden 308 is an incredibly reliable, semi-automatic Marksman Rifle that perfectly fills that space for those looking for a sniper-like weapon to use in medium to long range engagements. |
| VS Recon | Sniper Rifle | Player Level 4 (Custom Loadouts) | Your classic bolt-action sniper rifle, and one that’s incredibly reliable and you get access to it right off the bat – what’s not to like? |
Black Ops 7 B-tier guns listed
B-tier weapons in Black Ops 7 cover some solid picks that, whilst not some of the best, can still suit various playstyles and will likely still be enjoyed by a good number of players.
Here are the Black Ops 7 B-tier guns ordered by weapon class as of Black Ops 7’s launch meta on 14th November 2025:
| Weapon Name | Type | How to Unlock | Description / Reasoning |
|---|---|---|---|
| M15 Mod 0 | Assault Rifle | Player Level 4 (Custom Loadouts) | As the first Assault Rifle you get your hands on, the M15 Mod 0 is a great pick for when you get started, or even an easy rifle to swap back to after spending time with other weapons. That said, there are other picks which outclass it overall. |
| MXR-17 | Assault Rifle | Player Level 16 | Depending on the map, the MXR-17 can be a decent weapon with its medium to long range capabilities and slower fire rate, however it makes it less reliable on many of the core maps in Multiplayer. As such, it’s probably more of a niche pick, but still one that can be good. |
| Ryden 45K | SMG | Player Level 4 (Custom Loadouts) | Honestly a solid starting SMG that’ll get you by until you unlock some of the later ones – though with the right attachments, you might find this one good to stick with in the long term. |
| M10 Breacher | Shotgun | Player Level 4 (Custom Loadouts) | Whilst I personally didn’t particularly enjoy any of the shotguns, the M10 Breacher was probably the best, primarily due to its range capabilities. By holding the fire button, you can actually tighten its spread and hit enemies from a fair distance away. However, on controller this took some getting used to and the slow rate of fire made it less than ideal against multiple groups of enemies. |
| MK. 78 | LMG | Player Level 4 (Custom Loadouts) | I’m personally not much of an LMG player, but with the Belt Fed magazine attachment, you no longer have to reload, with access to a greater magazine size at the cost of the weapon overheating if you fire too long. With a perk like Scavenger, this honestly changes the dynamic of LMGs quite a lot, and it’s one to keep an eye out for, even if it may never make it to the top of the meta. |
| XM325 | LMG | Player Level 31 | Thanks to the Belt Fed magazine choice, you can turn the XM325 into an overheating weapon, rather than one you have to reload. So long as you’re careful with your shots, you’ll almost always have ammo readily available, and it’s a great choice to change how the weapon plays. |
| M34 Novaline | Marksman Rifle | Player Level 45 | Honestly a solid pick for Marksman Rifle, but even with its two-shot burst fire, it doesn’t stand as tall as the other two picks in this class just yet. |
Black Ops 7 C-tier guns listed
Black Ops 7 guns ranked at C-tier are typically weapons that not many players will be using, or are suited for more niche playstyles that aren’t the strongest in amongst the overall meta. Try them if you’d like something different, but keep in mind, you won’t necessarily get the same performance as those in the other tiers.
Here are the Black Ops 7 C-tier guns ordered by weapon class as of Black Ops 7’s launch meta on 14th November 2025:
| Weapon Name | Type | How to Unlock | Description / Reasoning |
|---|---|---|---|
| RK-9 | SMG | Player Level 7 | The RK-9 very much feels like one for those with an acquired taste being that it’s a 3-round burst SMG. I wouldn’t say it’s particularly bad, but it certainly feels like quite a niche pick that ranks in the lower end of the class. |
| Razor 9mm | SMG | Player Level 19 | I’ve got to say, I was a little disappointed with this one. Perhaps after some more time and the right attachments it’ll feel better, but the Razor 9mm – unlike the Razorback from Black Ops 3 it’s based on – felt like it was outclassed by nearly all other choices in the SMG category. With a bit more time though, I could see this ranking higher. |
| Echo 12 | Shotgun | Player Level 22 | With some fire rate buffs, I could see the Echo 12 coming in higher, but taken at base, whilst it has strong firepower, you have to be wary of its double barrel that requires a brief pause after every two shots. |
| Akita | Shotgun | Player Level 40 | A very niche pick here – one that reminded me of the AA-12 from back in Modern Warfare 2 (2009) – the Akita isn’t a shotgun I’d recommend as such, but with the right attachments and played on the appropriate map, I could see this being a decent enough pick for some spray and pray fun. |
| XR-3 ION | Sniper Rifle | Player Level 43 | This sniper is honestly a bit of a weird one, but it’s best described as a high-powered rifle. Whilst it has a burst of three shots, you only need to hit at least two of them to get a kill seemingly. That said, I’m not too sure what the benefit of using this is apart from perhaps better accuracy and range – though it has lower damage than the other two picks. Try it out, see what you think. |
